Mobile applications “Thermal Points” and the information system “Atlas of Dangers and Risks”, successfully tested this year, will be available throughout our country.

During the current year, the information system “Atlas of Hazards and Risks” has successfully passed trial operation. Currently, it contains data on various natural and man-made hazards and threats that are relevant for the regions of Russia at the moment. Among them, for example, natural fires, floods, floods, power failures in settlements and transport links, epidemics and others. In the future, the information will be supplemented and updated. The service is already available to citizens in the public domain on the Internet.

The Thermal Points mobile application is integrated into the Atlas of Hazards and Risks. It contains information on thermal anomalies detected by space monitoring on the territory of Russia, and is promptly sent to interested services and officials responsible for the security of the territories. So they are warned about the threat of wildfires and their possible transition to settlements. Prompt delivery of information saves time: it is possible to make managerial decisions faster, calculate the necessary forces, means and immediately start taking the necessary measures. For now, the app is only available to officials. It is planned that in 2021 everyone will be able to get acquainted with the information.

During 10 months of trial operation, more than 165 thousand thermal points were processed using a mobile application, of which more than 133 thousand were located in the immediate vicinity of settlements. With the help of the service, in the past fire hazardous period, it was possible to prevent the transition of wildfires to settlements. More than 26 thousand users have used the application in test mode.

For example, since the start of using the application, 161 thermocouples have been found in the Leningrad Region. The promptly received information about the source of the fire made it possible to quickly take measures, send the required forces and resources in advance and eliminate the fire, preventing its spread over large areas.

Thus, during the fire hazardous period in the Ulyanovsk region, 332 thermal points were processed using a mobile application. Every day in the Rostov region, on average, about 45 thermal anomalies were recorded; in total, using the application, more than 2 thousand thermal points were found in the region, and more than 7 thousand in the territory of the Southern Federal District.

The introduction of information services into permanent use will reduce the number of victims, reduce material damage, in particular due to early detection of hot spots, and increase the responsiveness to emerging natural and man-made threats.
