Convicted volunteers of correctional colony No. 10 made wooden tables and chairs, cradles for dolls, children’s toys and warm clothes for the inmates of the Krasnokamensk social rehabilitation center “Dobrota” of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

– The volunteer movement, which takes place within the framework of the regional campaign “The Warmth of My Hands”, is gaining strength every year, and include more and more participants who want to do good deeds, and in our institution, – says the deputy head of the institution Roman Polyakov. “We provide assistance to the rehabilitation center not only with handicrafts and mittens, for example, in the spring, the convicts installed a sports town in Dobrota, and made beautiful swans from tires for the playground of the children’s center. Also in spring, convicts grow seedlings of beets, cabbage and other vegetables, and at the beginning of summer they traditionally donate them to the children’s center.

The sincere emotions of children are a great stimulus for both the convicts and the employees themselves. Of course, children cannot express their gratitude with beautiful words or any awards, they draw pictures. The most frequent theme of these drawings is home, family, relatives.

– The administration of the institution places children’s drawings on the stand in the dining room. The convicts look at them every day and smile, says Roman Polyakov. – After all, good deeds are wonderful for those who are good from them both to those who do and to those who receive.
