Servicemen of the artillery units of the Caspian Flotilla Marine Corps (CFL) carried out night firing at the Adanak training ground in Dagestan.

The main task of night firing at this stage is to train personnel of crews of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) “Grad”, towed howitzers D-30 and mortars 2S12 “Sani” in the peculiarities of firing and fire control.

At night, servicemen learned to select, equip and mask firing positions, conduct reconnaissance and determine the distance to targets. In addition, the gunners competently used modern night sighting devices, which made it possible to effectively fire at direct fire and from closed firing positions.

In addition to live firing from the main weapons, the personnel of the artillery units practiced firing with small arms, and the drivers of combat vehicles improved their night driving skills over rough terrain.

In order to prevent hypothermia and illness among personnel, heating points have been organized at the training grounds. All servicemen are fully provided with additional insulated winter uniforms.

In total, during the night firing, about 100 artillery crews of cannon and rocket artillery, as well as more than 50 crews of combat vehicles of the KFL marines, were involved.
