At the event, which was held remotely, Andrey Rukosmotrov, Acting Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Tyumen Region, made a number of proposals for organizing cooperation in the field of observing and protecting the rights of citizens who are in the institutions of the region’s penitentiary system.

During the event, the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Tyumen Region Sergey Minevtsev made a speech, who proposed measures aimed at improving some areas of the penal system in order to ensure the implementation of human rights.

Elena Morozova, Chairperson of the Regional Public Monitoring Commission, announced the results of the joint work of the POC and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Tyumen region this year. It was noted that until March 2020, POC members carried out on-site visits to penitentiary institutions, due to the difficult epidemiological situation, further control was performed remotely.

During the working meeting, an exchange of views took place on the issues of interaction between the regional FPS and human rights defenders of the region.

At the end of the event, Andrei Rukosmotrov expressed confidence in constructive interaction to resolve issues of human rights observance in the penal system.
