In response to the Ombudsman’s direct investigation report on the “Arrangements for Production, Distribution, Stocktaking and Use of CSI Masks” released today (December 17), a spokesman for the Government Logistics Department (GLD) said that the department accepted the relevant recommendations made and would actively follow up on them.      The spokesman said, “The GLD is pleased to know that after reviewing the GLD’s entire process from procurement to distribution of masks (including CSI masks) to bureaux and departments (B/Ds), the Ombudsman considered the overall mechanism satisfactory and acknowledged that proper measures had already been adopted by the department for three critical procedures, namely storage, delivery and stocktaking of masks, so as to guard against misappropriation of masks during the process.      “The GLD will follow up on the Ombudsman’s recommendations, including formulating and issuing guidelines for B/Ds on the management of masks and other personal protective equipment items.”
