The Government will provide a one-off free COVID-19 testing service for foreign domestic helpers from December 18 to January 31.

During a press briefing this afternoon, Centre for Health Protection Communicable Disease Branch Head Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan called on helpers to take part in the scheme.

“The total number of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong is quite big, that is why the free COVID-19 testing scheme will last until the end of January. Hopefully most of the foreign domestic helpers can join. This is a one-off scheme.”

Dr Chuang reiterated an appeal to helpers with any symptoms to seek medical advice as soon as possible.

“This scheme is for the asymptomatic ones or those who may foresee that they have a risk or those who went out at weekends or had some gatherings – they are especially called upon to undergo testing.”

Foreign domestic helpers can book the service at the Community Testing Centre website from tomorrow.
