MIL OSI Translation. Government of the Republic of France statements from French to English –

Source: Republic of France in French The French Republic has issued the following statement:

France welcomes the agreement reached on December 12, 2020 to develop, strengthen and structure student mobility in Europe.

The European Parliament and the Council agreed on December 12 to launch the new Erasmus + program for the period 2021-2027.

in the future multiannual financial framework

France is delighted with this agreement, which makes it possible to increase the share allocated to the Erasmus + budget for a total amount of € 23.4 billion over seven years.

This new program meets the objectives set by France:

reach new audiences
expand the number of beneficiaries to people who have not benefited or too little from Erasmus until now: apprentices, adults in reintegration, people with disabilities.

The new Erasmus + budget also provides for the creation of alliances of European universities, pushed by France, which will make it possible to create a real network of European campuses and move, we hope, towards a real European higher education diploma. The Government also welcomes the creation of centers of excellence for vocational education and training, which will be the equivalent of alliances of European universities for vocational education.

With this agreement, France is supporting an expansion of the Erasmus + program which will allow half of an age group to have spent, before the age of 25, at least six months in another European country. This is an objective that the Government continues to defend in view of the French presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2022.
