Specialists of the radio-technical troops (RTV), which are armed with low-altitude radar stations (radars) “Podlet-K1”, together with the combat crews of the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile system (ZRPK) and the Tor- M1 “of the Central Military District (TsVO) discovered and conditionally destroyed low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of a simulated enemy as part of an exercise at a training ground in the Chelyabinsk region.

In the course of the tactical episode, specialists of the radio engineering troops from the Podlet-K1 radar combat crew discovered small, low-speed and low-altitude targets at a distance of about 15 kilometers, the role of which was played by unmanned aerial vehicles. The use of the Polyana-D4 automation equipment at the command post made it possible to promptly, in real time, obtain radar information, target coordinates, make a prompt decision and issue target designations to defeat air targets of a simulated enemy. The combat crews of the Tor-M1 air defense missile system and the Pantsir C1 air defense missile system performed guidance and electronic launches hit about 20 enemy drones operating at low and extremely low altitudes.

“The main task was to develop mechanisms of information interaction between elements of the battle order: command posts, radar detection and fire destruction of air targets of a simulated enemy operating at extremely low and low altitudes, at specified lines and ranges,” said the head of the radio engineering forces of the aviation association Central Military District Ramil Ziganshin.

On the day of the 69th anniversary of the formation of the radio-technical troops, the crews of the radar complexes are continuously monitoring the air situation in the zones of responsibility. The radio-technical troops of the Central Military District are armed with modern stations and radar detection systems “Sky-M”, “Sky-U”, “Podlet-K1”, “Kasta”, “Gamma”, “Terek”, their crews are on alert to protect the air space.
