Earlier, 238.5 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.

Decree of December 14, 2020 No. 2084

Private organizations and individual entrepreneurs who work with animals will be reimbursed for the costs of their maintenance from April to August 2020. The decree on this was signed by the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

We are talking about private circuses, zoos, dolphinariums and aquariums. Due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus, they all found themselves in a forced downtime. At the same time, the maintenance of animals, their feeding and veterinary services are expensive. To support the industry, in November it was decided to allocate 238.5 million rubles from the government reserve fund. The rules for the provision of these funds have now been approved.

Federal funding will be directed to the Association of specialists and organizations to promote the work and protection of the interests of traveling circuses and the Union of Zoos and Aquariums. Then this money will be distributed among private organizations and individual entrepreneurs on the basis of applications received from them. The amount of the payment will depend on the number of animals and the maximum amount of expenses for their maintenance per month.

Zoos, circuses, dolphinariums and aquariums are included in the list of sectors of the Russian economy affected by the spread of the coronavirus.
