The 29th Taiwan Excellence awards ceremony (also referred to as the “Oscars” of Taiwan’s Industry), was held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2, on the afternoon of November 25, 2020. The highest honors, the Taiwan Excellence Gold Awards and Silver Awards, were presented to the winners by Minister of Economic Affairs Mei-Hua Wang. Meanwhile, Director General Cynthia Kiang of the Bureau of Foreign Trade presented the Taiwan Excellence enterprises this year. Over 500 enterprise representatives received the Taiwan Excellence awards in celebration of  Taiwan’s outstanding products.The Taiwan Excellence awards were established by the MOEA to promote Taiwan’s industries with a competitive edge. Every year, the committee of judges selects products on evaluation of their R&D, design, quality, marketing and the “Made in Taiwan” factor. The Taiwan Excellence logo is now an internationally recognized symbol of excellence that can be seen on the packaging and advertising materials of award winning products and companies. Furthermore, the MOEA offers customized digital transformation services to award-winning companies.This year, small and medium-sized enterprises took home nearly 60 percent of the Taiwan Excellence Awards, signaling the strength of these Taiwanese enterprises. Products that won the Taiwan Excellence Gold and Silver Awards fully demonstrate innovative value in improving quality of life around the globe. Some prime examples of groundbreaking products that have set benchmarks in their respective industries include, the “Intelligent 4.0 Ballscrew”, an important component for smart manufacturing and industry upgrade; the “Noodoe Smart EV Charger”, a significant improver to systematic energy management capability; the “Remote Control Helicopter for Agriculture”, a highly efficient pesticide spraying machine; and the “Smart Service Robot Ayuda”, an assistant for all types of environments (e.g. banks, hospitals, and large-scale exhibitions).As the impact of COVID-19 on the global economy and trade is projected to continue well into next year, the MOEA has continued to promote the international profile of Taiwan’s industries through digital marketing and online operations that go hand-in-hand with virtual and physical exhibitions and shopping platforms.
