“From the FUTURE Act to the HBCU Partners Act and much more, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished for higher education in the 116th Congress,” said Congresswoman Adams. “However, there are many challenges ahead. We have to get the pandemic under control so students and educators can return to the classroom safely. We have to continue to address the educational equity gap that has been widened by COVID-19. Finally, we must continue to work for a public education system that opens doors of opportunity for all Americans.”
Congresswoman Alma Adams represents North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District (Charlotte) and serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture. Additionally, she serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Education & Labor Committee, where she serves as Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee. She is the co-founder and co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus.
