Wholesale sales prices, November 2020 0.1% on the previous month-1.7% on the same month last year

WIESBADEN – Wholesale sales prices fell by 1.7% in November 2020 compared to November 2019. As the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports, the year-on-year change was -1.9% in October 2020 and -1.8% in September 2020. In a month-on-month comparison, wholesale sales prices rose slightly by 0.1% in November 2020.

The main influence on the decline in wholesale sales prices compared to November 2019 was the price development in the wholesale of petroleum products (-18.1%).

There were also sharp falls in prices compared to the previous year in wholesale of live animals (-22.9%). Prices fell slightly in the wholesale of data processing equipment, peripheral devices and software (-3.7%) and of iron, steel, iron and steel semi-finished products (-1.6%).

In contrast, prices in the wholesale trade for scrap and residual materials (+7.5%), grain, raw tobacco, seeds and animal feed (+7.2%) and for fruit, vegetables and potatoes (+2.0) were higher than in November 2019 %).
