The Tellsplatte ship station, which has been extensively renovated for around CHF 600,000, is once again an active part of the route network of the Lake Lucerne Shipping Company. After an interruption of almost two years, another SGV scheduled ship docked on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

The landing stage, which is important for the municipality of Sisikon and the canton of Uri, had not been approached by scheduled ships of the Vierwaldstättersee (SGV) shipping company for around two years. The reason was extensive renovation work. In addition to SGV, the canton of Uri and the municipality of Sisikon also contributed to the costs of around CHF 600,000.

On Sunday, December 13th, 2020, the first scheduled boat (course 20) was welcomed during the mooring maneuver on the “Tellsplatte” by the Sisikon mayor Timotheus Abegg and government representative Urs Janett. On behalf of the municipality of Sisikon, Captain Roger Benz and his crew received a present from the municipality of Sisikon. The first scheduled ship arrival was honored by the participation of shipping director Stefan Schulthess and SGV board chairman Hans-Rudolf Schurter.

With the winter timetable, the “Tellsplatte” will again be served with scheduled ship courses. As a station on the “Swiss Path”, the Tellsplatte, together with the Rütli, is one of the most historic sights on Lake Uri.
