Covid-19 / solidarity
In view of the end of the year celebrations, the General Directorate of Social Cohesion (DGCS) wishes to strengthen its support to all isolated Vaudois who need support in their daily lives. To this end, the Centrale des solidarités, a system set up in April for the attention of municipalities and front-line professionals, will be exceptionally accessible to the population of Vaud. Professionals from the Vaud Association for Home Help and Care (AVASAD) will respond to the population from December 15 to January 15, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except December 25 and January 1) at the following number: 0800 30 30 38.
Staying at home and limiting their outings as a precaution, or having to live in isolation or in quarantine, can pose a problem for part of the population – especially those who cannot rely on their family, relatives, a network community, or a social or medico-social organization to perform certain daily tasks. This situation can be further complicated during the holiday season, when certain municipalities, social institutions or associations will be closed and will not be able to support these isolated or single people.
Thus, during the period from December 15, 2020 to January 15, 2021, the population can contact 0800 30 30 38 directly. This telephone line, open in April 2020, is normally intended for front-line professionals (municipalities , associations and social institutions, Covid trackers, doctors, etc.). She supports them if they cannot find a local response to a request for help from an isolated person. The Centrale des solidarités, in collaboration with the major social institutions of the canton (AVASAD, the Mobile Emergency Social Team (EMUS), Pro Infirmis, Pro Senectute, Caritas-Vaud, Bénévolat-Vaud, Croix-Rouge vaudoise, Social Center Protestant, Entraide familial vaudoise, Pro-Xy, Espace Proches and the regions of social actions), directs applicants to the offers of assistance available throughout the canton.
Help in daily life
The telephone line supports the population in finding solutions for daily life by offering guidance and social advice. It allows, for example, to find support for:
transport for people with reduced mobility (for example for chronic treatments in hospital, going to their doctor or pharmacist),
support in the event of a disability,
relieve family caregivers,
the delivery of meals or groceries,
household chores or the maintenance of a pet,
provide guidance in case of other needs or questions.
The telephone line is provided by AVASAD professionals. Anonymity is guaranteed.
