Given the confinement, the face-to-face Defense and Citizenship Days (JDC) are suspended. Online JDCs have replaced them since November 23, 2020. If you are concerned, you will receive a convocation by email. A decree and an order were published in the Official Journal on December 12, 2020. Service-Public.fr explains how it goes.
You will be among the first to be invited if you were already registered on majdc.fr or if you had provided your e-mail address or telephone number during the census or during contact with a National Service Center (CSN). If you did not provide an email address or phone number, you will receive a convocation by mail.
From the receipt of your invitation, you have 11 days to complete your JDC online. Your convocation specifies the expected deadline.
You have to create a personal account on the majdc.fr site. if you haven’t already opened one.
The JDC takes place in 4 stages:
You view the data recorded following the census and update them if necessary.
You receive a link in your inbox that allows you to access three “defense” modules in the form of videos. You can watch these videos multiple times, but you cannot time-lapse them or skip them without playing them. After each video, you click on “next” and then you cannot go back.
You access the citizenship information module called “Youth Citizenship Information IJC1” then a questionnaire to identify your interest in defense professions. Finally, you must answer a satisfaction questionnaire.
After validation of the third step, you will receive on the site’s messaging system, a provisional certificate, which will allow you to justify your administrative situation in order, while waiting for your final certificate. Your personal majdc.fr account will then be blocked until final validation by the National Service Center.
After a period of 11 days, the individual certificate of participation (CIP) is sent to those who have validated the entire course online.
Those who have not gone through to the end of the procedure will be considered absent and may be summoned again.
Note: If you have internet access difficulties and you are unable to complete your JDC online, you will have priority to do it face-to-face as soon as sanitary conditions allow it again.
Note: It is no longer possible to provide a declaration on the honor of not participating in the Defense and Citizenship Day (JDC) to register for a driver’s license since November 30, 2020.
