For military service, 20 young people living in the Kaliningrad region were selected and sent to the scientific company of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Today they all began service in the battalion of ships under construction and repairs of the Baltic Fleet and embarked on an initial military training course.

According to the military commissar of the Kaliningrad region, Colonel Yuri Boychenko, all recruits to these units have higher and secondary specialized education, 7 out of 20 recruits have a higher technical education. During the autumn conscription, special attention was paid to security measures in the context of the coronavirus pandemic: upon arrival at the reception center, the recruits went through a barrier post with thermometry, passed tests for COVID-19 in a mobile laboratory. After that, all young people were tested for the absence of drugs in their bodies, dressed in uniform and received all the required types of allowance. In the unit, all conditions have already been created for servicemen, for service and for future work.

For the region, this is the fifth dispatch of citizens to these units. In December 2018, the first 20 Kaliningraders were already sent to the research and production company of the fleet.

Servicemen of the research and production company of the Baltic Fleet will serve at the Baltic shipyard “Yantar” – work as shipbuilders, ship pipelines and welders. Most of the servicemen will be engaged in raising their professional and educational level, working in their specialty at a shipbuilding enterprise.
