Servicemen of the special forces of the Central Military District and the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan completed a joint exercise, which took place for a week at the Termez training ground, with the liberation of the settlement and the capture of the leader of the conditional illegal armed formation (IAF.

According to the plan of practical actions, a group of militants invaded from abroad and captured a nearby settlement. The servicemen of the two countries conducted reconnaissance of the area with the help of drones, revealed the weaknesses of the “militants” and secretly landed from an Mi-8 helicopter.

Spetsnaz destroyed the security, and mortar crews inflicted targeted fire on the settlement. After that, joint groups of servicemen, who arrived in four Typhoon armored vehicles, cleared the buildings from the enemy who had taken refuge and captured the leader of the “militants”. Upon completion of the operation, the sappers conducted a survey and demining of the settlement.

At the closing ceremony of the exercise, the commander of the troops of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, noted that the military personnel of the two countries received new experience that will help in ensuring security in Central Asia. During the exercise, the special forces carried out a wide range of the most difficult training and combat missions in a rapidly changing situation, and the servicemen of the two countries coped with the assigned tasks.

“A characteristic feature of the exercise was its conduct against the backdrop of the increasing instability of the international situation in the Central Asian region. Modern challenges and threats, including international terrorism, pose a serious threat to our states, and we are obliged to adequately respond to such phenomena, ensuring the improvement of the activities of our armed forces, “said Colonel General A. Lapin.

In total, about 200 military personnel, employees of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan were involved in the development of actions, about 20 units of military and special equipment were involved.
