Servicemen of the mountain motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District, stationed in the Republic of Tyva, have received the latest Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) complex.

The complex entering service during planned combat training activities will be used for aerial reconnaissance, issuing ready-made target designations for strike and fire weapons of missile forces and artillery of a mountain formation, as well as for adjusting fire.

The Orlan-10 UAV complex is designed for aerial optical-electronic reconnaissance, data delivery for target designation to strike (fire) means, aerial radio reconnaissance, blocking GSM cellular communications, distorting the GPS navigation field. Its payload includes interchangeable modules with a thermal imaging camera, a color video camera on a gyro-stabilized turntable, a photo camera, and relay equipment. The ground control station of the complex is mounted on the chassis of a KamAZ vehicle.

A feature of this complex is the ability to withstand the electronic warfare means of a conventional enemy. Its use will make it possible to conduct aerial reconnaissance in conditions of active radio suppression.
