Now the project “Moscow Longevity” is working remotely. More than 2.5 thousand online groups are available to participants, half of which are educational. The program includes foreign languages, art history, information technology, psychology, financial and legal literacy. Intellectual online clubs have been opened in 10 Moscow universities, which have been joined by 4.6 thousand older Muscovites. Classes are conducted by the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, Moscow Polytechnic University, Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry named after S.G. Stroganov, Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov.

In addition, the project includes classes at the Silver University. This academic year, more than 1.3 thousand students of the older generation are studying in intellectual clubs in the online format. In November, classes began under the professional retraining programs “Home education and education (tutoring)”, “Fundamentals of tutoring”, as well as the program of the profession “Digital curator”. Over 180 students will undergo distance learning under these programs and receive certificates of a working profession, which gives the right to employment, and diplomas of professional retraining of the established form.

From 2015 to 2019, the involvement of the older generation aged 55 to 64 in the educational process almost tripled, from 12 to 29 percent. These are the results of a study conducted by the National Research University Higher School of Economics, “Self-education practices among the adult population of Russia” in the framework of the project “Monitoring the economics of education.” In the capital, representatives of the older generation are assisted by the Moscow Longevity project, which started on March 1, 2018, in mastering new knowledge and technologies. Within its framework opened circles and sections in all areas of the city.

Online classes in the Moscow Longevity project began in March this year. This format was in demand.
