Police announced that a 44-year-old male Sergeant from the Airport Police District has tested preliminary positive for COVID-19.

He is among the close contacts of six officers of the same police district who had earlier tested positive for the virus and has been quarantined.

The officer underwent virus testing on December 13 and tested preliminary positive for COVID-19 today.

He had no travel history over the past 14 days and had no contact with members of the public while working. He last attended work on December 8.

Arrangements have been made to clean and disinfect the premises where the officer works.

Officers who might have come into close contact with the Sergeant have been arranged to be quarantined and undergo virus testing.
