The Hospital Authority today said three male COVID-19 patients passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who died in public hospitals to 117.

One of the patients, aged 49, was transferred to United Christian Hospital from the community treatment facility on December 9.

His condition deteriorated and he passed away this morning.

Another patient, 69, with chronic disease was transferred from a quarantine centre to Tuen Mun Hospital’s isolation ward for treatment on December 4 due to a fever.

His condition continued to deteriorate and he died this evening.

A 73-year-old male patient, also with chronic diseases, was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on December 12 due to a fever and oxygen desaturation.

He later tested positive for COVID-19 and required mechanical ventilation for assisting breathing.

His condition continued to deteriorate and he also passed away this evening.
