For the first time, a conference on combat training was held at the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Its main goals were to summarize the results of the activities of the command staff of the RF Armed Forces and to discuss advanced training methods. In addition, the features of the implementation of combat training, identified during inspections of troops (forces) in 2019 and 2020, were analyzed.

General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, under whose leadership the event was held, noted that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, all combat training activities planned for the current year were completed without reducing the quality of training. This made it possible to ensure the required level of field, air and naval training of personnel, to master new tactics of action, taking into account the experience gained in modern armed conflicts, as well as the arrival of new weapons and military equipment in the troops.

In his report, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, emphasized that increasing the effectiveness of combat training is impossible without improving the training system for management personnel, as well as further developing the network of training centers for training junior specialists and full-time crews.
