The floating workshop “PM-82” of the Baltic Fleet, the Strait of Gibraltar, entered the Mediterranean Sea. In the coming days, the floating workshop will arrive at its destination, where it will begin to perform tasks to ensure the technical readiness of ships and submarines of the operational formation of the Russian Navy, performing tasks in this region.

The PM-82 crew includes specialized specialists who are able to quickly carry out various types of repairs to ships and submarines. The technical premises of the floating workshop are small workshops with all the necessary equipment. The support vessel can provide technical support to ships directly at sea and in their home areas.

An anti-terror group from the Baltic Fleet Marine Corps unit is constantly on board the support vessel.

PM-82 on November 30 left Baltiysk and went to the Mediterranean Sea to perform tasks as intended.

Over the past three years, the crew of the floating workshop has already carried out the fourth long voyage in the Mediterranean.

“PM-82” is the third ship in a series of five floating workshops of project 304. The floating workshops are designed to repair ships and vessels, their weapons and technical equipment in areas remote from the main basing points.
