On December 10-11, at the direction of Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, the delegation of the Russian Navy’s High Command took part in plenary sessions and sessions within the X International Forum “Arctic: Present and Future”, which is completing its work in St. Petersburg. The delegation of the Main Command of the Navy included the heads and specialists of the command and control bodies of the Navy, employees of research institutes of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Russian Navy, representatives of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society under the High Command of the Navy and representatives of the Northern Fleet.

The Forum is held with the support and participation of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Russian Foreign Ministry and other relevant federal ministries and departments, regional authorities, commercial companies and research organizations, and the media. The organizer is the Interregional Public Organization “Association of Polar Explorers”.

The results of the regular oceanographic expeditions conducted by the Navy today are a worthy continuation of the Navy’s activity in the study of the Arctic regions, which was started by the first Russian polar sailors, a significant contribution to the implementation of the national maritime policy in the field of ensuring security in this important region. Undoubtedly, representatives of the Russian Navy will make their important contribution to the work of the forum by participating in discussions at the forum sites and exchanging experience on its fields. “
