In 2020, seven modernized aircraft and helicopters entered service with the aviation units of the Central Military District (CVO), based in four regions of Russia and in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

The received equipment has been modernized at the manufacturing plants. Aircraft and helicopters were equipped with updated sighting and navigation equipment, as well as technical units and assemblies.

Military units of operational-tactical aviation in the Chelyabinsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory have replenished with updated MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors and Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft. The world’s largest transport helicopter Mi-26 and attack helicopters Mi-24P entered service with the army aviation units in the Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions. In addition, the united Russian military base Kant in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan was replenished with a modernized Su-25 attack aircraft: the aiming and navigation equipment was updated on the aircraft.

The Central Military District is deployed in 29 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The district structurally includes a number of foreign objects: the 201st military base on the territory of Tajikistan, the united military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as units on the territory of Kazakhstan. The headquarters is located in Yekaterinburg.
