In addition, according to the minister, preparations will continue for the International Army Games, including for two new competitions – “Tactical Shooter” in army tactical shooting and “Meridian” for military topographers. Within the framework of the All-Army Competitions, a competition will be held to deploy a field hospital.

Further, Sergei Shoigu said that the training period will end with a set of special exercises. The most important event for practicing practical actions of troops (forces) will be the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercise Zapad-2021, planned for September, aimed at further strengthening the military security of the Union State.

The Minister of Defense noted that strict implementation of the training plans will allow maintaining a high level of combat capability of the troops and adequately reacting to possible exacerbations of the military-political situation.

He stressed that in order to avoid the spread of coronavirus infection, all events will be held in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards.

Further, the head of the defense department put three issues on the agenda of the meeting.

The first concerned the implementation of the Sozvezdie-2015 development work in the interests of the Ministry of Defense. “Within the framework of this ROC,” the minister said, “a promising automated tactical control system is being created. In terms of its capabilities, it will in no way be inferior to foreign counterparts, and in a number of characteristics it will even surpass them. Further, Sergei Shoigu proposed to take stock of the work of the Aerospace Forces, the Navy and the Engineering Troops to free arsenals, bases and warehouses from unusable property. As a result, the number of accidents involving official vehicles decreased by 21%, personal vehicles of military personnel – by 12%. “Despite the positive dynamics,” continued Sergei Shoigu, “prevention of road traffic accidents remains one of our priority tasks. Today we will discuss how to improve this work. “

He further focused on the vaccination of the personnel of the Armed Forces against the new coronavirus infection. “I gave instructions to intensify and accelerate this work,” the minister said. – Currently, more than one and a half thousand servicemen are vaccinated daily. In order to increase the number of vaccinated people up to five thousand people a day, on the basis of military medical organizations and units, he instructed to create vaccination rooms and form the required number of special teams for vaccination. “

Then Sergei Shoigu said a few words about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. “The introduction of Russian peacekeepers into the conflict zone made it possible to normalize the situation in the region,” he said. – The terms of the signed tripartite ceasefire declaration are being respected.
