Distance learning for students in grades 6-11 of the capital’s schools will be extended until the end of the second quarter. The corresponding changes have been made in Moscow Mayor’s decree “On the stages of lifting the restrictions established in connection with the introduction of the high alert regime.”

According to experts, it is the children of senior school age who are more at risk of contracting coronavirus infection. High school students have a better command of information technologies, so it was decided to send them to distance learning.

About 500 thousand students in grades 6-11 were transferred to distance learning from October 19.

Children’s morbidity directly affects the health of their family members. They are one and a half times more likely to transmit the infection to relatives living with them than adults. This means that distance learning helps reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Primary school students continue to study full-time. They switch to online learning when one of the students in the class has contracted coronavirus. In this case, experts conduct an epidemiological investigation and test the rest of the students for COVID-19.
