Employees of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory conquered one of the peaks of the Alkhanai National Park – a picturesque mountain range, majestically standing over the southern steppe expanses. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Ministry, the detachment erected a commemorative flag at the munhan, a rock-chapel near the main peak of the Buddhist shrine.

Climbing mountain peaks on memorable dates for the Ministry is becoming a good tradition for the firefighters of Transbaikalia. In the summer of 2015, a group of four employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations installed a stele dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Ministry at the highest point of Alkhanay. This time, the firefighters also chose one of the most picturesque peaks of the national park, but made the task more difficult with a winter ascent.

To achieve the goal, a detachment of six representatives from different departments of the department had to overcome about 6 kilometers. The ascent to the top took place along hard-to-reach areas, with deep snow, rocky placers and windbreaks. Nevertheless, the Pearl of Transbaikalia turned out to be supportive of the EMERCOM employees, presenting warm and sunny weather, as well as excellent views of the most picturesque places of the national park.

At one point, the detachment strayed off the trail, as the landmarks were hidden by the snow cover. But thanks to the experience of the Duldurgi fire department employees, who have climbed the sacred peak more than once, the group reached the Munhan before dark. On November 28, at 15:00, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s flag flew over the valley of the Aginsky Buryat District, which is spread from below.

“I am proud that I had the honor to plant the EMERCOM of Russia flag on the top of the national park in honor of its 30th anniversary. I would like to wish the Ministry further prosperity and development. And for dedicated people to work in it, ”- said Damdin Zhambalov, firefighter of PCh-3 of the village of Duldurga.

The detachment spent 8 hours on the way, having covered more than 10 kilometers. A similar action, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Ministry, is being held throughout the country during the anniversary year. It is designed to perpetuate the memory of the rescuers and leave life guidelines for future employees of the Ministry of Emergencies.

“I would like to wish the young guys who go to serve in the Ministry of Emergency Situations good luck, success, confidence in the future. To accumulate experience, from which firefighting has developed, as it is developing now, ”said firefighter PCh-3 of the village of Duldurga Bator Damdinov.

Such ascents to the mountains of Transbaikalia can become permanent for employees of the regional Main Directorate. After all, the region has no shortage of peaks and brave rescuers.
