Internet users will see the main exposition of the museum, located in the former apartment 50 in building 10 on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. It was this apartment that Bulgakov called “bad” in the novel The Master and Margarita.

Media platform #Moscowstoby invites citizens to a new video tour. Participants will be guided through main exposition Mikhail Bulgakov Museum. During the virtual tour, visitors will be able to look at the writer’s study, living room, look into the communal kitchen with the attributes of 1920s everyday life, as well as see the entrance walls covered by fans of the classic of Russian literature.

The museum is located at 10 Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, apartment 50. It was here that Mikhail Bulgakov settled in the fall of 1921. He lived in this communal apartment for three years and wrote his first Moscow works, including the novel “The White Guard”. It is believed that it was apartment 50 that became the prototype of the “bad” building in the house 302-bis from the novel “The Master and Margarita”. First, Mikhail Berlioz, a writer and chairman of MASSOLIT, lived there, then Woland and his retinue.

Viewers of the online tour will visit the so-called blue office. In this room, they recreated the room of Mikhail Afanasyevich, where he worked in the last years of his life. She was in a house in Nashchokinskiy lane. Despite the fact that the building was destroyed, some pieces of furniture from the writer’s office survived, for example, the secretary behind which the writer worked on the novel The Master and Margarita. Experts have recreated an office in the museum on Bolshaya Sadovaya from the recollections of the classic’s relatives and close friends.

The guide will also show you the living room in the former communal apartment 50. The writer lived and worked there from 1921 to 1924. From that time to the present day, some of the original interior and household items have survived. Among them is a lampshade and a piano on which the score of the opera Faust by Charles Gounod stands. Bulgakov was very fond of this work.

Internet users will also visit the communal kitchen. In the 1920s, a variety of people constantly collided here, forced to live together in a small area. They not only cooked food, but also talked, quarreled, swore and even fought. It is precisely because of the scandalous situation that the kitchen in the novel “The Master and Margarita” is the epicenter of the events that took place in the “bad apartment.”

In addition, during an online excursion, viewers will learn about the danger of a primus, see fragments of Soviet newspapers of the 1920s, and will definitely visit the entrance of the house with graffiti of the writer’s fans.
