The personnel of the Guards Airborne Assault Formation of the Airborne Forces took part in the celebrations to mark the 34th anniversary of the formation of their formation.

A solemn meeting took place on the parade ground of the brigade under the leadership of the interim commander of the guard unit, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Ivanov. Congratulations were read from the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov.

According to the established tradition, the command of the compound was awarded shoulder straps with the next military ranks and certificates for success in combat training

The ceremonial events continued in the club of the military unit. The most distinguished paratroopers were awarded state and departmental awards and insignia.

Then there was the presentation of mementos from the honorary guests from the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ussuriysk city district, the ataman of the Primorsky Cossack district and the chief of the brigade Igor Dotsenko, as well as representatives of SBERBANK OF RUSSIA and GAZPROMBANK.

The ceremonial part of the event ended with a festive concert.


A separate guards airborne assault brigade was formed in the Polish city of Bialogard (Northern Group of Forces of the USSR Ministry of Defense) in 1986.

In 1989, the brigade was transferred to the subordination of the commander of the Airborne Forces and reorganized into the Ussuriysk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, but after 6 years it became part of the Red Banner Far Eastern Military District.

In 2013, the military unit again returned to the Airborne Forces.
