At the direction of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, regional prosecutors organized an audit of the implementation of legislation aimed at preventing drug addiction, countering the illegal distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances among students of educational organizations, as well as identifying and suppressing crimes in this area.

Analysis of the state of legality showed that the availability of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in adolescents is indicated by a significant number of crimes and offenses of this category committed by minors. At the same time, the development of remote means of communication largely determines the latency of such crimes.

As a result, the number of children killed and poisoned as a result of the use of drugs and other psychoactive substances remains high. In many cases, those involved in drug trafficking are students of educational organizations, whose officials do not take the necessary measures for the early detection and prevention of drug use by schoolchildren and students.

During the inspection, prosecutors will give a fundamental assessment of the completeness of the exercise by educational authorities and educational organizations of their powers to early identify and prevent illegal consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by students, conduct their socio-psychological testing, preventive medical examinations, and interact with medical institutions and law enforcement agencies. Prosecutors will study all materials and criminal cases on the facts of persuading minors to use drugs or their involvement in committing crimes in this area.
