The event saw the participation of Deputy Director of the Academy Assoc. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera, and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Organisation Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Viet Thao.

In his speech, Assoc. Dr. Duong Trung Y emphasised that Vietnam-Cuba friendship and solidarity have been cultivated, preserved and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, especially by the two great leaders Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro.

The cohesion in terms of the noble revolutionary ideals of the times and the struggle for independence, freedom and national liberation created a bond of understanding between the two nations who are half world from each other, thus initiating a sentiment that has survived 60 years despite global ups and downs, he said.

That relationship has become a symbol of the times, unprecedented in international relations as Cuban leader Fidel Castro once affirmed, Y continued.

Vietnam-Cuba solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation have been unceasingly strengthened and are growing across various fields, he said, adding that bilateral political relations have also witnessed an increasing bond and mutual trust with regular exchanges of delegations between the two countries in recent years.

For his part, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera said that with the special relationship based on mutual trust, Vietnam and Cuba have maintained regular exchanges on experiences in the process of renovating and updating their socio-economic models, a source of reference for the building of socialism based on the characteristics of each country.

Highlighting Cuba’s cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the ambassador said Cuba will continue to consolidate its relations with the academy, hoping that in the near future, Cuban scholars can participate in programmes at the academy.

At the seminar, participants delivered wholehearted presentations affirming the faithful and pure relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
