Earlier, 3.5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes.
Resolution of November 19, 2020 No. 1877
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin made changes to rules for granting subsidies to tour operators for reimbursement of costs associated with coronavirus.
The tourism industry was among the victims of the pandemic, so the government decided to support it. For these purposes 3.5 billion rubles were allocated. The subsidies were intended to partially reimburse the cost of non-refundable tickets and to compensate for the costs of transporting tourists from countries with an unfavorable epidemiological situation.
But not all operators, as practice has shown, were able to use them. In the rules for the provision of state support, there was a condition that the subsidy is provided only to those industry participants who took out tourists within two weeks after the official introduction of restrictions in the host country. But in fact, tour operators, following the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, began to return Russians from foreign resorts earlier. So that they can also receive subsidies, it was decided to adjust the rules for providing state support.
Now tour operators will be reimbursed for the cost of returning tourists for the period from January 24 to March 30, 2020, without reference to the date of the official introduction of restrictions in a particular country.
