This will improve traffic at highway intersections as well as relieve congestion on adjacent streets.

Work on the reconstruction of five outdated transport interchanges at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road and outgoing highways will be completed in 2022. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.

“By the end of this year, a large interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road and Volokolamskoye Highway will be completed. By the end of next year, it is planned to complete the main work at the intersections with Altufevskoe and Ostashkovskoe highways, ”he said.

Later, the interchanges in Kapotnya and at the intersection with Verkhniye Polya Street will be reconstructed.

“Modernization of old clover interchanges allows to improve traffic at highway intersections, as well as to relieve congestion of both adjacent streets and the Moscow Ring Road,” said Andrei Bochkarev.

Over the past 10 years, 17 interchanges have already been reconstructed on the Moscow Ring Road. “We see the positive effect of this work. On the sections of the ring main, the flow is unloaded by an average of 20 percent, ”he explained.
