In the Kaluga Region, young pilots and navigators of long-range aviation took part in a training session for crews of Tu-22m3 long-range bombers, during which they performed flights in difficult meteorological conditions.

A special feature of the training was to work out the interaction of the flight management group with flight crews in conditions of limited visibility due to low cloudiness, precipitation and strong crosswind.

During the flight missions, the crews practiced en-route flights, simulated cruise missile launches at simulated enemy targets and instrument landing approaches.

On the ground, the engineering and technical staff have worked out the standards for the maintenance and preparation of aircraft for repeated flights at established time intervals.

“These activities are carried out so that young crew members can obtain permission to fly in adverse weather conditions, acquire additional practical experience under the guidance of an experienced instructor staff and can start performing similar tasks during the winter training period,” the commander of the long-range aviation regiment, Colonel Vadim Beloslyudtsev.

In total, over 10 flights were flown during the flight shift.
