The guaranteed first prize in this year’s Channel Islands Christmas Lottery has now risen to over £400,000

As additional ticket sales increase across the Islands, the first prize will continue to rise. Lottery agents are reporting sales are increasing as the draw date on 17 December approaches.

Philip Taylor, Executive Chairman of Fox Trading, the distributor of tickets in Jersey, said: “Given the current circumstances, we are pleased that ticket sales are running 23.5% ahead of last year.

“It is important to keep sales growing as they contribute to a rising first prize and more importantly will mean more money for good causes in Jersey, which is needed now more than ever.”

Minister for Economic Development, Senator Lyndon Farnham said “The Christmas Lottery is a well-established festive tradition in the Channel Islands and raises significant additional funds to help our charities and good causes.

“This year the ticket price has been reduced from £3 to £2, which is proving to be a popular change.

“The more lottery tickets we sell, the more financial assistance we can give them, so I encourage islanders to add a ticket to their shopping basket as often as possible. Not only will this help increase the jackpot, but it will also mean we can help a wider range of good causes across our community.”

The draw will take place in Guernsey on Thursday 17 December, live on ITV Channel TV from 6.00 pm.
