AviaçÃonella Linhas Aéreas intends to operate in regions not reached by the traditional network and should start flying in the first half of 2021

By Vanessa CastroMore a low cost airline plans to invest in Brazil and operate flights within the country in the coming months. The new company Nella Linhas Aéreas has filed a request with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to start regional operations and started negotiations at an alignment meeting with the agency this week. According to Anac, the meeting is part of the first in a series of steps to obtain the Air Operator Certificate (COA), a document that authorizes the beginning of the company’s activities. The process may take several months, until the company is able to launch the first flight, but it is expected that this will happen in the first half of 2021, according to an announcement by Nella Linhas Aéreas. With the motto “It is not just about to fly ”, the company intends to become a reference in the Brazilian regional aviation, meeting the demand of cities in the countryside still unassisted by air service, and to be recognized for a humanized management, focused on travelers and employees. The Brazilian Maurício Souza, founder of Nella, explains that the name of the company was a tribute to his daughter Antonella, less than a year old, and that he will apply the joviality of the name to the company’s values. “We want to become a reference, not for being the biggest airline or having the best planes, but for the different way we treat our customers and employees: in an open, transparent and barrier-free way. Our greatest desire is to promote job creation, and profitability is a consequence of good work ”, declared.Maurício Souza says that Nella should initially operate in the North, Northeast and Midwest regions with ATR 72-600 aircraft used for landing and taking off at smaller airports. The aircraft have the capacity to carry up to 72 passengers on regional flights. In principle, having the operations center at Brasília International Airport and the administrative center at Campo de Marte airport, in São Paulo, the CEO’s intention is to expand hubs and fleets, including freighters. For the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio , this is the ideal time to invest in the Brazilian domestic market. “The resumption of our activity will occur through domestic tourism and we have to take advantage of this post-pandemic trend to promote and enhance our destinations. The arrival of new regional airlines expands connectivity and makes tourism even more accessible ”, he stressed.FORUM MOB-TUR – The Ministry of Tourism established the Tourism Mobility and Connectivity Forum of the Ministry of Tourism (Mob-Tur) in order to discuss and propose policies and strategies to improve the connections that provide access to destinations and tourist attractions in Brazil. In addition, MTur, in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), is mapping and diagnosing 30 tourist routes strategic areas in Brazil, distributed in 158 municipalities and included in the Investe Turismo program. The mapping will cover the road, rail, waterway and air modes of the chosen routes and will make it possible to plan the best conditions for tourist passenger transport. Edition: Lívia Nascimento
