122 thousand technology companies are registered in the capital.
There are 122,000 technology companies operating in Moscow. Told about it Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, at an online meeting with participants in the Cybathlon 2020 championship among people using assistive technologies.
“The technology sector has a large share in the Moscow economy. It employs over a million people. A total of 122,000 technology companies operate in the city. Thanks to the availability of infrastructure and comprehensive support programs, this sector continues to grow steadily, ”said Natalya Sergunina.
The Cybathlon 2020 Championship, which took place on November 13 and 14, was attended by 54 teams from 21 countries. Russia was represented in five disciplines out of six. Our country was represented by athletes using bionic arm prostheses, power leg prostheses, electrified wheelchairs, exoskeletons and neurointerfaces. Russian cybathletes won silver and bronze in two disciplines, in another three they entered the top five.
So, in the Wheel discipline (electrified carriages), Yuri Larin became the silver medalist with the development of the Katervil company. In the BCI discipline (brain-computer interface), Ruslan Nurullin won bronze with the development of Neurobotics. Sergey Bachu and Elina Zhukova, with the development of the Motorica company, took fourth place in the ARM discipline (bionic hand prostheses). Rinat Khusainov, with the development of the Ortho-Cosmos company, became the fifth in the LEG discipline (power leg prostheses). The same place was taken by Yuri Sidorov with the development of the ExoAtlet company in the EXO discipline (exoskeletons).
Natalia Sergunina congratulated the athletes on their successful performance at the championship.
“You have shown excellent results, were among the leaders and won prizes in a bitter struggle. I would like to thank the entire staff of the national team for a successful performance and for your contribution to the development of this area. Moscow supported your participation in the world championship, we will continue to support the development of cybathletics in the future, ”said Natalya Sergunina.
Competitions have a significant impact on the development of rehabilitation technologies. Four out of five developments used by members of the Russian national team were created by Moscow companies. All of them are participants and partners Moscow innovation cluster… According to Natalya Sergunina, in 2019 the total revenues of Moscow technology companies reached almost 11.5 trillion rubles, adding another five percent over the previous year.
“The bionic prosthesis helps a lot in everyday life: I am actively involved in physical exercises, evenly distributing the load on both hands. I used to have a traction prosthesis, and now I can say for sure: bionic prostheses are many times better, more comfortable and stronger, ”said Elina Zhukova.
Technological business in Moscow
Technological means of rehabilitation and advanced assistive technologies in the capital are being developed and produced by more than 50 enterprises. Some of them work on the basis of the capital’s technoparks. The status of the technopark allows its management company and residents to receive regional tax and land lease incentives. The overall reduction in the tax burden can be up to 25 percent.
Also, for technology companies operating in the capital, special support measures are provided from the Moscow Government: subsidies for engineering, subsidies for equipment for residents of technology parks and participants of the Moscow innovation cluster, as well as grants for the implementation of complex innovative projects. According to Natalia Sergunina, since the beginning of 2020, payments in the amount of about 875 million rubles have been approved for all three programs.
Today, the capital has all the necessary conditions and infrastructure for the development of technology companies: the Moscow innovation cluster, 36 technoparks, the Moscow Accelerator project and the pilot testing program for innovative solutions are operating.
Development Director of Motorika, whose development took the fourth place at Cybathlon 2020, Vasily Khlebnikov noted the importance of state support in this industry.
“I can note that the systemic support of the state is actively developing and really brings tangible benefits in achieving the goals we have chosen. The goal of our company is to become one of the leaders in the production of hand prostheses in the world. The results of the competition and our international activity reinforce this ambition, ”he said.
In the context of the pandemic, cybathlets performed at home venues equipped in accordance with the Cybathlon 2020 regulations. In Russia, the championship was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moscow Government on the territory of the Center for Sports Innovative Technologies and Training of National Teams of Moskomsport.
