Mikhail Mishustin expressed his deep condolences over the death of the theater director, teacher, People’s Artist of Russia Roman Viktyuk.
The telegram reads, in part:
“Roman Viktyuk was an incredibly talented and extraordinary director. A bold experimenter and researcher of human souls, he created a new direction in theatrical art, knew how to give a special sound to age-old plays. Each of his performances was distinguished by original stage and musical solutions, subtle dialogues, and a unique author’s style. Bright, deep, philosophical performances of Roman Viktyuk have always become a noticeable event. The main thing is that they did not leave anyone indifferent, made the audience think, worry, reflect on the complexities of life.
Roman Grigorievich Viktyuk was a man of extraordinary charm and an open heart, he always devoted himself without reserve to the Theater, students, spectators. Roman Grigorievich is no longer with us, but his rich creative heritage remains, and a good memory of him remains. “
On November 20, a farewell to Roman Viktyuk, who died on November 17 at the age of 85, is being held in Moscow.
