In accordance with the plan for training the military police of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2020, under the leadership of the head of the Main Directorate of the Military Police of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Colonel-General Sergei Kuralenko, a meeting with the leadership of the military police of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was held.
On the first day of the event, the current results of the work of the military police in 2020 were considered, special attention was paid to maintaining law and order, ensuring road safety, combat training and the results of the Sentinel-2020 special military police exercise.
On the second day of the gathering, the officers of the Main Directorate of the Military Police of the Russian Ministry of Defense held classes on the specifics of the use of military police in the period of an imminent threat of aggression and in wartime.
The lessons are based on the experience gained by military police officers when performing special tasks outside the Russian Federation in 2020, as well as the basic requirements of the regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, including the laws “On Defense”, “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization in the Russian Federation.”
The meeting participants appreciated the importance of the issues under consideration, including those related to improving the military police management system and the training system.
The event involved the chiefs of the regional military police bodies stationed in the territories of military districts and the Northern Fleet, territorial bodies and a military unit directly subordinate to the head of the Main Directorate of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, officers of the Main Command of the Land Forces, teachers of higher military educational institutions that train young military police officers.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Main Directorate of the Military Police, Colonel-General Sergei Kuralenko, identified the priority areas for the military police for 2021, including reducing crimes in the Armed Forces through preventive measures and increasing the readiness of bodies, military units and military police units to perform tasks in threatened period and in wartime.
For the first time, in order to comply with measures to prevent the spread of viral diseases, a meeting with military police was held via video conference.
