Davis Statement on Indictment of Top Madigan Confidant and ComEd Officials for Corruption, Bribery Charges

Rodney Davis again calls on Madigan to resign and urges Gov. Pritzker, Illinois Democrats to call for Madigan’s immediate resignation from public office

Washington, D.C., November 19, 2020

U.S. Representative Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) released the following statement after the U.S. Attorney of the Northern District of Illinois announced an indictment of top Madigan confidant Mike McClain and three ComEd officials for corruption charges:

“This corruption indictment is further proof that Speaker Mike Madigan is the most corrupt politician in Illinois history. He must resign from public office immediately. With the help of Madigan-enablers like Governor J.B. Pritzker and other Illinois Democrats, the Speaker has turned state government into his own corrupt enterprise, designed to benefit himself and his political machine at the expense of taxpayers. It’s time for the governor and others to stop protecting Madigan and call for his immediate resignation from public office. Their refusal to stand up and speak out should concern the people of Illinois.”
