In the capital, 19,867 children left without parental care are registered with the guardianship and guardianship authorities. More than 93 percent of them are brought up in families.

Moscow plans to index payments to foster families by 3.7 percent in 2021. This amount is included in the project capital budget for next year.

Now, when adopting a child, parents are paid a one-time payment in the amount of five living wages (89,205 rubles), for the second adopted child – seven living wages (124,887 rubles), for the third and subsequent children – 10 living wages (178,410 rubles).

In addition, they plan to increase the monthly remuneration for foster parents. This amount will amount to 17,318 rubles for an adopted child without disabilities and 29,441 rubles for a disabled child. The budget for these purposes in 2021 has allocated more than 1.8 billion rubles.

If one or two foster children are brought up in the family, then one of the foster parents receives the remuneration. If there are three or more adopted children, then both parents – for each adopted child.

Also, in 2021, it is planned to index by 3.7 percent the monthly payment for the maintenance of foster children – for the purchase of clothing, personal belongings, food and other goods for the child.

19 867 children left without parental care are registered with the guardianship and guardianship authorities of the city of Moscow. Of these, 93.4 percent are already being raised in families, the rest – in organizations for orphans and children left without parental care. The guardianship and guardianship authorities, all centers for the promotion of family education are trying to find a substitute family for each child and ensure a comfortable life, versatile and full-fledged development and rehabilitation.
