Rep. Charlie Crist Urges GSA to Begin Presidential Transition

Washington, November 18, 2020 Washington, D.C. – Following the General Service Administration’s (GSA) delay in allowing an official presidential transition ahead of President-elect Biden’s inauguration January 20, Representative Charlie Crist (D-FL) released the following statement. “A smooth and peaceful transition of power between presidential administrations is a hallmark of American democracy. Every sitting President in modern American history has participated in this process to ensure the continuity of government, regardless of party affiliation. It is the solemn duty of every President to acknowledge the will of the American people and work with the incoming Administration so they are adequately prepared to confront the threats facing our nation on day one,” said Crist.  “The delay we are seeing from the GSA and the White House to begin this process is unprecedented. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, and every day of delay is precious time lost. The current Administration has the opportunity to bring this country together and save countless lives in the months to come. It’s time to move the process of peacefully transitioning power forward.”  MIL OSI USA News
