In line with new COVID-19 Directions which came into effect at midnight 19 November 2020, all metropolitan Police Stations that do not operate 24 hours will be closed effective immediately. These closures will allow Police Officers to assist with COVID-19 related duties.

Those 24 hour SA Police Stations that will remain open between 19 November and midnight 24 November are as follows:

  • ADELAIDE : 28 – 30 Hindley Street, Adelaide
  • ADELAIDE : 176 Grenfell Street, Adelaide
  • CHRISTIES BEACH : 94 Dyson Road, Christies Beach
  • ELIZABETH : 17-19 Frobisher Road, Elizabeth
  • PORT ADELAIDE : 244 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide

All other metropolitan Police Stations will remain closed until further notice.

Members of the public should be assured that these closures will not impact on the capacity of Police to respond to any emergencies or calls for assistance.

Assistant Commissioner Scott Duval said there will be no change to operational services provided by police in these areas.

“It is important to remember that the location of our ‘bricks and mortar’ stations does not impact on how long it takes police to respond to a call for assistance,” he said.

“General duties patrols are mobile and respond to tasking wherever they may be. If we receive a call from the public the closest available patrol will assist.”

Members of the public should report anything suspicious by calling the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.

In an emergency dial Triple Zero (000), and if you want to provide information that may help solve a crime or about criminal activity, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A range of services are also offered online – for community members who want to report lost property, a minor collision, or cybercrime – please visit the SA Police website at

For people who report to the effected police stations on bail, appropriate changes will be made and communicated to report to another station (if that condition is still required).

Those requiring a Justice of the Peace service should visit:
