During the meeting with President Bolsonaro, Zurab also informed the interest in partnerships to offer qualification of labor in the sector. Finally, the secretary-general assessed the possibility of holding, in Angra dos Reis (RJ), a Forum with tourism ministers from several countries. Zurab also reaffirmed his commitment to help the country increase the numbers of domestic and international tourism.

CHALLENGE – The 1st Brazilian Challenge of Innovation in Tourism sought solutions for the resumption of tourist activities in the country through technological-based projects that respond both to the immediate needs of the post-pandemic context and to the general challenges of Brazilian tourism. Almost 800 startups entered the competition and the 10 finalists were classified for the semifinals of the third edition of the UNWTO Tourism Startup Competition, a global challenge promoted by OMT in partnership with Wakalua.
