Austin, TX The U.S. Marshals, working with Mexican officials, coordinated the deportation of a Williamson County resident who was sought for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a Texas parole violation with an original charge of a prohibited weapon.
Felix Flores, 62, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for an incident that occurred on April 21, 2016, in the 1200 block of Lexington Street in Taylor, Texas. Flores allegedly stabbed his victim more than 10 times causing injury to her chest and forearm. The victim survived the assault.
The Taylor Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Flores on April 22, 2016. Authorities requested assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend him.
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force initiated a fugitive investigation and quickly learned Flores may have fled to south Texas, when a vehicle he was known to drive was found and abandoned near the United States and Mexico border.
The U.S. Marshals continued the fugitive investigation and contacted foreign officials for the assistance to locate Flores. On April 26, 2016, Flores was featured on a local news segment Marshals Most Wanted, which generated a tip indicating Flores fled to Mexico.
On Nov. 13 Flores was apprehended by Mexican authorities and deported back to the United States, closing a four-year fugitive investigation that was led by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in the Austin Division.
Flores is currently being held in the Harris County Jail in Houston where he awaits extradition back to Williamson County.
