Three new centers for receiving donors with antibodies to coronavirus infection are opening in the capital. They will work on the basis of the second department of the Gavrilov Blood Center and blood transfusion departments at the A.K. Eramishantsev and Hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobova. “In October, we saw a rapid increase in activity among plasma donors with antibodies to coronavirus. We are grateful to Muscovites who help save the lives of patients in serious condition, and we do our best to make it convenient and easy for donors to donate plasma. That is why we decided to open three additional points – on the basis of the 67th hospital, the Eramishantsev hospital and the branch of the Gavrilov Blood Center on Begovaya – and thus increase the number of time intervals for registration for donation. Now the centers where you can donate plasma after recovering from the coronavirus cover even more areas – it will be more convenient for donors to get to them, ”the vice mayor said.

Now, receiving plasma donors will be carried out at seven points. Among them:

– O.K. Blood Center Gavrilov (Bakinskaya street, building 31);

– Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after N.V. Sklifosovsky (Bolshaya Sukharevskaya square, building 3, building 12);

– City Clinical Hospital No. 52 (Pekhotnaya street, building 3, building 1);

– GKB named after M.P. Konchalovsky (Zelenograd, Kashtanovaya Alley, Building 2, Building 5);

– O.K. Blood Center Gavrilov (Polikarpova street, house 14, building 2);

– blood service of the A.K. Eramishantsev (Lenskaya street, house 15);

– City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L. A. Vorokhobov (Salyam Adil Street, 2/44). This item will open on November 19.

In October, the clinical committee approved a uniform standard in the approach to treating patients with COVID-19 in hospitals. According to him, patients with moderate and severe forms of coronavirus can be prescribed transfusion of donor plasma. The decision is made by the attending physician. Plasma transfusion reduces the likelihood of deterioration and the patient being connected to a ventilator by almost half, and the survival rate increases by 19 percent.

Who can become a donor

To become a donor, you need to contact the hotline by phone: +7 (495) 870-45-16. It is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00. People aged 18 to 55 years old, weighing more than 50 kilograms, who have had COVID-19, are invited to donate. After the first symptoms of coronavirus infection appear, five weeks should pass. A contraindication is the presence of chronic diseases, HIV, syphilis, viral hepatitis.

For donating plasma with COVID-19 antibodies Mayor of Moscow the remuneration was established in the amount of five thousand rubles. Donors also receive compensation for food in the amount of 1212 rubles.
