Defense Minister of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu checked preparations for the launch of the Soyuz-2 launch vehicle with a satellite array at the Plesetsk cosmodrome.

“The launch of the Soyuz-2 carrier rocket with the launch of a block of spacecraft into orbit will take place on November 24. At present, the combat crew of the Russian Defense Ministry is completing technological operations to prepare the launch vehicle for transport to the launch site, ”Colonel-General Sergei Surovikin, Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces, reported to the Minister of Defense.

For reference:

The three-stage medium-class Soyuz-2 launch vehicle allows spacecraft to be launched into near-earth orbits of various heights. The first launch of a rocket of this type from the Plesetsk cosmodrome took place in November 2004.

The low-orbit satellite system “Gonets-D1M” is designed to provide communications and data transmission on a global scale, including remote and hard-to-reach areas, including the Far North, as well as for industrial, transport and environmental monitoring. The standard constellation of the system includes 12 satellites – three vehicles each in four orbital planes.
