In project “Active Citizen” summed up the voting results “Around Moscow without leaving home: online tours of ancient buildings”… A total of 195 329 people took part in it. Videos of walks are posted on YouTube channel Department of cultural heritage of the city of Moscow.
Top three leaders online walk around “Kolomenskoye”… On it, the guide Ivan Fedorin tells about the ancient history of the lands where the museum-reserve is now located. This virtual tour was named the best by 25.74 percent of voting participants.
In second place – walk around the house of the merchant Igumnov… She was supported by 17.2 percent of people. The mansion on Bolshaya Yakimanka is covered with legends about the unfaithful beloved of the owner walled up within the walls. Thanks to this, the building became the most famous Moscow building in the pseudo-Russian style. Now it houses the residence of the French Ambassador to Russia.
Closes the top three excursion to the restaurant “Yar” on Leningradsky Prospekt (10.05 percent of the vote). Since the middle of the 19th century, wealthy citizens preferred to have fun here. At the beginning of the 20th century, the restaurant was completely rebuilt according to the project of the architect Adolf Erichson. For the other four online walks, the participants voted as follows: 8.74 percent chose a tour of the Narkomfin House, 4.32 percent of the Smirnov mansion, 4.17 percent of the building of the former Tsentrosoyuz, and Ya.M. Schlossberg – 3.33 percent. 26.45 percent of voting participants found it difficult to choose.
On the online site of the city Department of Cultural Heritage, videos of lectures, master classes, various author’s programs are published, virtual excursions are held with famous guides and local historians. Thanks to the online format, everyone can see the ambassadorial residences, which are located in ancient buildings, look into legendary restaurants and hotels, and listen to stories about the historical parks of the capital.
