In Dagestan, an exercise to neutralize a conditional group of an illegal armed formation (IAF) with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles was conducted with a detachment to counteract sabotage forces and means of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL).

According to the plan of the exercise, the duty shift of the observation post detected the landing of a conditional group of illegal armed groups in the coastal part of the Caspian Sea near the Turali training ground.

In the course of practicing practical tasks, the servicemen of the PDSS detachment were divided into two groups: the first acted as an illegal armed formation, and the second organized the search and neutralization of the conditional enemy.

A duty tractor with a search group was sent to the illegal armed group’s landing area. The adjustment of the actions of the PDSS servicemen to search for “saboteurs” was provided by the calculation of the unmanned aerial vehicle “Orlan-10”.

After finding the “enemy” in a given area, the search group of the PDSS detachment successfully blocked and then destroyed the conditional group of illegal armed groups. Also, the servicemen have worked out the elements of hand-to-hand combat using cold and small arms.

About 40 servicemen of the PDSS KFl detachment took part in the exercise, about 10 units of military equipment were involved.
